Our Mission
We seek to build upon the perfect and eternal foundation of Jesus Christ, a structure that will by no means pass away or crumble over time (1 Cor 3:11). With eternity in mind we place priority on welcoming people into God’s family. The Church offers truth, light, and rest to the weak and lonely in a world that seeks to confuse and devour innocence everywhere. For those who suffer under the yoke of sin, experience the pain of addictions, and bear the scars of a broken life, Christ invites you to come to Him for restoration. We seek to be messengers of this good news to as many as will listen.
As God continues to reach out to us, we have determined to run to Him while empowering others to do likewise. Service to the community and each other reminds us just how much we depend on God’s sustaining power. Worshiping in a way that truly glorifies and praises the Father helps to maintain a God-centered focus in our assemblies. We are striving to share the gift of salvation, and by doing so, impact Fort Walton Beach. We have set in our hearts to become a unified church across all racial and generational lines. We strive to be a body of believers rich in faith regardless of any social standings or worldly barriers (Jas 2:1). It is truly our goal to become a "royal Priesthood" and declare the glory of God to those still living in this world’s darkness (1 Pe 2:9).
In a culture that is experiencing ever higher divorce rates, crime rates, and addictions, we are seeking to broadcast God’s way. As we face these great challenges we are learning to build strong families who grow together in love. As we connect with God, He supplies the power to overcome and endure all the struggles we may face. We seek to deepen faith, commitment, and over-all Bible knowledge through in-depth classes and culturally relevant sermons. We long to personally know the God revealed in the Scriptures. We currently worship and teach in English and Spanish because God’s message is for all who will listen. We long to share and provide for those in need just as the early church in Jerusalem had all things in common (Acts 2:44). Here at FWB Church of Christ we simply seek to let God’s light shine and give glory to Him.
