Our Practice

When we gather for worship, we come as redeemed sinners, recognizing (1) that we are unworthy to enter the presence of God, (2) but Jesus calls us worthy and invites us into the presence of God. The Bible serves as the foundation of our worship preparation: we seek to let the Word of God be clear and present in everything we do. We sing songs which give glory to Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Our prayers ask for God’s continued forgiveness, blessings for the day, and hope for tomorrow. We take part in the communion meal which reminds us of Christ and our common bond in Him. We have the opportunity to give money as a happy expression of our thankfulness to Christ. No visitors are asked to give anything: members give as much or as little as they desire. The sermon will usually explain some part of the Bible, while lifting up Jesus, and helping us understand how to be more like Christ in our work and home life.
