Family & Youth Minister
Job Summary
The Family & Youth Minister is a full-time position working with church leaders
and parents to promote the spiritual health of families and youth. The Fort
Walton Beach church is racially and economically diverse, with a wide range of
opportunities to support and encourage families and individual teens.

General Expectations
• Lead or coordinate family and youth ministry classes and activities
• Provide opportunities for young men and women to develop as servants and
leaders
• Communicate regularly with parents and teens, through in-person
conversations, phone contacts, texts, email, and social media
• Work closely with the deacons and adult volunteers who work with Children’s
Activities and Children and Youth Education
• Attend regular meetings with elders and ministers
• Establish and execute an annual budget for the ministry, including class
materials, trips and activities, conferences and lectureships

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Ability to teach Bible classes for teens and young adults
• Ability to preach when needed as substitute for pulpit minister
• Ability to organize classes and activities for youth and families
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and organizational skills

Education & Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Family Ministry or related major preferred
• At least one year experience in ministry or relevant internships
